Coaches should support educators to deliver knowledge and skills-based curriculums and help them to coach pupils to set their own learning goals.

ISTE explains that ‘Coaches should personalise support for educators by planning and modelling an approach that supports student mastery of content knowledges while also gaining vital competencies, including problem solving, critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration and self-direction.’
When pupils have all the information at their finger tips, then a key priority for teachers is TEACHER coaching and fostering independence and curiosity in pupils. Modern curriculums like those following ideas from 21st Century Learning Design and the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate from the Learning Skills Trust help foster independence and self-direction.
There are many tools that help deliver these forward thinking curriculums. These include the use of Power Apps use for a pupil skills record and for goal setting, Flip for communication of acquired knowledge , and V.R. headsets for communication and collaboration in a virtual environment .
